IN THE MEDIA WORLD, THERE ARE DIFFERENT CONNOTATIONS TO COLOURS

RED

Red Symbolizes passion, love ,danger. Red is used to signify importance and power.

On the TV Show Game Of Thrones, there are many houses that symbolise power for example the Targaryen house , were conquerors and dominated Westeros( The country where the show is set)  with their fire breathing dragons. This is shown in their house banner.

ORANGE

Orange has connotations to warmth, spices fruit and Autumn. Orange is also used to signifies with excitement and energy.

During Autumn the leaves turn orange and fall to the ground. This shows the weather is changing and to warm up.

                        

YELLOW

Yellow has connotations to happiness, creativity. In the media world, it has connotations to positivity , yellow is signifies summer and warmth. It can also symbolise danger/warning. 

SpongeBob Square Pants is a radiant, optimistic and positive character and is also yellow.

GREEN

Green is one of my favourite colours! In the media world, green symbolises nature such as trees, grass and bushes. Green has connotations to heath.

In general, green can also symbolise envy from the term, " Green with envy". It can also symbolise peace.

BLUE

In the media world, blue symbolises, health. Blue is also associated with water. 

 Blue is favourite by a large majority of people it is also has connotations to unity and approachable. This is why many companies use the colour blue. 

PURPLE

In the media world, purple has connotations of royalty and luxury.

This is because throughout history it was expensive to dye colours purple. It was only worn by royalty only. There are other connotations to purple can be evil and mourning. Purple is used for many villain's and characters.  Purple has connotations towards unity, magic and spirituality.

BLACK

Black is professional and smart. Black has connotations of death and darkness.

 At Funeral's people wear black. Black is professional and smart. It can also symbolise power and strength.

These colours prominent in the media world and have meaning behind them. As shown in this blog, each colour have certain connotations and images to certain things. This also shows that one colour can have different connotation which people may interpret differently.
