The media theoretical frame work, is a collection of categories that make up every type of Media. There are 5 Categories.
Media Language:
Media language is how the creator,producer wants you think. The director can do this by using words and emphasising different words to portray a certain meaning. The director can also do this symbolically by using mise-un-scene,clothing, objects and body language.
In this poster the word 'bad' is in large and in showing the title of the movie and the black board background has connotations to a school environment . In the frame there is an apple which has connotations to teachers. On the apple there is a note that says 'eat me' which is ironic because as it has sexual connotations. Finally, the way the model is sitting shows that she is sleeping, she is also wear shades to show that she doesn't want to be seen sleeping , It could also infer that she has a hangover and is sensitive to light. This shows that she doesn't care about her job and her reputation. as shown in the caption underneath the eat me apple.These are examples of what the director uses to show meaning through language.
Media Representations:
Media Representation, is how a particular group of people are portrayed in the media for example, young people are associated with violence and anti social behaviour. This includes gender, race,disabled,age and class. This is notoriously used in the film,TV industry where they use Archetypes. An Archetype is a stereotypical character for example, The funny person in the group etc. This helps people relate to these characters and identify these characters.
The Fast and Furious Franchise is the most successful franchises this generation, because of the characters and their dynamic on screen. I am going to describe popular characters in the franchise.
Media Industries
Media industries
is collection of companies and
organisations that share the production and market distribution of
media texts. This is how media form is received to the consumer.
Media Contexts
Is the background/context behind a media form. This includes the social,historical and cultural background that may be relevant. This can effect the who the consumer may react towards a media form. For example a scary film in the 1940's may not scare an modern audience. Media Audience
Media Audience is also how the audience respond to a media a media form and what they do with it .
A rapper called' Big Shaq' featured on BBC Radio 1 extra where upcoming artists are challenged to do free style ( Rapping on the spot) . After this video it went viral because people remixed and added to this video this is called a prosumer.
